Seth stood in front of the bathroom mirror, a frail, ailing boy staring back at him. Black and blue bruises covered his neck and jawline accompanied by red scratches and impressions where large, clumsy hands had clamped his throat shut the night before. Dark, lifeless eyes glinted in the light, giving a great sense of sorrow. Sad eyes... Bringing his eyes down, he scanned his chest. It was also littered with black, blue, and yellow flesh, embellished by his ribs protruding out of the pale, thin skin. -
"Paula!" a hoarse voice called up from bellow, "Hurry up, you're going to be late for school!" The teen looked over at the clock with groggy eyes, and bolted out of bed. She quickly changed, stuffed her school supplies in her bag, and headed out the door. SHe didn't brush her hair, but she figured she could fix it when she reached school.
