Do you have any idea what my ancestors have been through due to Hitler's wrath? Many of them Catholic, Christian... They all died and disappeared. Poof. Without a trace. For generations we've been trying to find out what happened to them.
My great great grandfather Samuel. Gassed in one of those concentration camps.
My great great grandmother Earnest... Murdered brutally right in front of her two children, not but three years old. Charles and Jacob were murdered as well.
Half of my family, gone, vanished... without a trace. I walk in town and I see swastikas painted on gas stations, on the sidewalk. Do you know how it feels to be hated just by what you believe in? Being Jewish doesn't define who I am as a person. I don't choose how people see my religion. Do you think I want to be hated? In a Catholic community, no less. Antisemitism is every where I look. Thank you so much, Hitler. Even after all you put us through, people today are still hating; still threatening, spitting at me, calling out, "TOO BAD I WON'T SEE YOU IN HEAVEN, JEW." How the hell would you deal with it? How. The. Hell. Would. You. Deal? -
