He looked back at the ground. -

Rain looked at the clouds. -
(I believe "thinking" would've been appropriate for the phrase, what with the usage of the comma.)
He looked over at her. "Still haven't thought of anything?" -
She shook her head.

"I can't think of anything else."

"So..."

"I dunno."

She looked down.

He wanted to walk away. Don't. Even if you don't know her, that's not nice.

She bit her lip. "You can go if you want... I can go alone."
