Lilli looked up at Thomas. "What was that thing you and Dare seemed o worried about?"
Thomas bit his lip. "Well... It's kinda a long story." -
May slowly whispered to Dare, "what is going on between you and Thomas" looking him straight in the eyes
Dare seemed stunned and then replied, "its nothing to worry about i promise i will tell you later" -
"We have a long time."
Thomas blushed. "Well, see, we had a bet..." He wished he'd never made that bet. -
May smiled politely and said, "okaii i will wait then"
Dare smiled and kissed May's forehead -
Lilli listens patiently as Thomas explains. "So, it was just for a bet?"
"No! It was more!" -
May saw Lilli getting upset and asked Dare, "can we go see what is going on between Lilli and Thomas??"
Dare smiled and led May over to Lilli still cautiously surveying the scene -
Lilli pulled away. "I should've known it was too good to be true." And she ran from the ball room.
"No, Lilli!" -
May pulled away from Dare and ran after Lilli. when she caught up with Lilli she asked, "whats wrong?? what happened??"
Dare watched as May pulled away and ran after Lilli then he turned and asked Thomas, "what happened?? what did you do?? what did you say to her??" -
Lilli was crying now. "It wasn't real, it wasn't..."
Thomas shook his head. "She wanted to know... So I told her... I didn't want to keep secrets from her..." -
"what wasnt Lilli??" May held her friend close
Dare looked worried, "how did you tell her?? you could have implied the wrong thing and she is going to tell May what she heard....." -
"It was a bet, he asked me to the ball because of a bet..."
Thomas hung his head. "I'm sorry, Dare." -
May asked, "who did he bet with?? what was the bet??"
Dare turned and ran to get to May before she heard -
"With Dare... Who could ask first...," she sobbed.
Thomas turned and left the ball as fast as he could. -
May gasped and shook her head with no words at all wishing she could know it was a lie
Dare caught up to the girls and saw that may had started to cry he wanted to fix it all "girls will you listen to me please i want to help everyone i hate seeing both of you cry" -
