Jacob filled his 60 gallon bathtub in 5 minutes. How fast was the water flowing.

that's basically what I did. dividing the total number of gallons in the given number of minutes would give the number of gallons per minute

Oh, okay. I get it know. And that pretty much enlightens me on what to do with the rest. There's one more that I really don't get, try as I might.

A breakfast cereal comes in two different sized packages. The 8 ounce box costs $2.88, while the 12 ounce box costs $3.60. Which box it the better deal. Explain your reasoning.

12 oz. box. divide the cost by the ounce, and you'll get 0.36 for the first, and 0.3 for the second.
