But Annabel wasn't fine. She was suffering, her throat hurting so much she couldn't talk. Annabel closed her eyes and sat down, keeping a hand on her throat the whole time. She winced as she slowly lifted her hand away.

Kakarot, go away. I'm fine. Annabel thought at him, then blocked her thoughts off from everyone.

Annabel felt bad for yelling at Kakarot, but it was true. The more she thought, the more it hurt. Suddenly Annabel's throat hurt as much as it had when she'd first been shot. Kakarot, I'm sorry, come back... Gods, it hurts so bad... Annabel thought, practically screaming it mentally.
