(Okay)
We had just got to the top floor of the WOrld Trade Center. I don't get why we had to be at the top for mom to take a picture. Sure there was a nice view, but that could be seen from any other floor. -
I followed my dad into his workplace -- The World Trade Center. He had his heart set on showing me his work today. All in all, his job seemed pretty boring. I reluctantly climbed the stairs to his office on one of the top floors. He had this weird thing with fitness. I, having a thin build, didn't give a care when it came to that. We finally reached his office, and he grinned, taking out his key.
"It's time to see where all of the magic happens, Matthew." He unlocked the door and ushered me inside, flicking the lights on as he strode in. He looked out of the window, whistling. "That view gets me every time, kid... Every time." -
I started getting a little air sick. I wasn't exactly afraid of heights, but it was the fear of being up really high where you can fall. Falling also isn't my fear, it's when you finish falling and hit the ground.
-
I started to feel a little odd, as if maybe something bad was about to happen. There was a loud sound resembling and airplane, and then a massive explosion in the North Tower.
"Dad!" I yelled, smelling smoke. -
While looking through the window, I saw a plane. It was getting closer. My eyes widened as it hit the tower. I started coughing. "Mom? Dad?" I shouted.
-
My dad grabbed me by the arm and started running, pulling me through the lobby and down the stairs. "We have to get out of here!" He yelled. Tons of people flooded into the staircase. Running wasn't possible. All we could do was file down the steps slowly.
-
My mom, who has asthma, started wheezing, so I found her first. I grabbed her wrist. "Mom, we have to get out of here!" I shouted over the screams of other panicing tourists. The smoke was burning my eyes. I looked around trying to find my dad. "Where's dad?" I yelled. He was right next to her.
