I ventured down the steps, perching on the couch. I squirmed restlessly. I was so thirsty... But I couldn't risk running into Carlisle. Things were already horrid between us; anything more and he might drive a wooden stake through my heart. I laughed bitterly at my mental joke. Maybe I deserved it. -

It got allfully chilly, so I headed back home, and climbed up to my window. -

I heard Carlisle sneak into the house. I sighed and stood up, slipping out the back door. I needed to take care of this. My thirst was starting to toy with my mind. -

I sat on my bed, looking at my hands. -

I sat in my study, my pen flowing against the blank paper. It was full of cross-outs and corrections. -
