I've played alot of Halo: Reach, Lost Planet 2, and am Going to be getting Space Marine when it comes out in a couple weeks.

It's further in the future than Halo. Space marine is based in the 41st Millinia. Space marines are like spartans in the fact that they are genetically inhanced supersoldiers. The campaigne is about your squad of space marines fighting off an ork horde. The multiplayer is about space marine vs traitor marines known as Chaos space marines.
Space marines have existed for over 20 years now through table top games and novels. Space marine is the first really successful attempt at making their universe into a videogame.
