I didn't understand it either, to begin with.
Soaps (soap operas) are role plays, with two or more users, doing improvised lines.
Sometimes soaps can be planned; the characters, plots e.t.c.
I've been informed that it can actually be quite entertaining, and a great way to express feelings, worries, or hopes e.t.c.
By the way, a tip of advice, don't ever intrude a soap. Just don't. -

It gets really annoying though, When newbs pop in and just say 'hi' and act like we're supposed to notice them. Then they throw like... fits in the soap.

Just be considerate at all times, ask to join even if people are welcoming; you never know.
Just avoid Moyashi's (Mo) soaps, she's a member. She's gets quite irritated. -

ozzy didn't call you annoying, its just annoying when someonepops in, says hi, acts like we should acknowledge their presence, then they start hissyfitting T_T'
