Maria kneeled down and unlatched Dylan's door. She helped him get out.
Still, the lady just watched.
Maria narrowed her eyes at the lady. -
"Thanks." He said, climbing out of the cage. He whispered: "We have toget the lay out. We cant run yet."

"Don't metion it," She said, watching the lady. Lower, she said, trying to be a little funny, "But I really don't want to stay."

I'd been sitting, quietly picking the cage lock with the bamboo chopsticks I had in my hair.

Dylan heard another person get out of the cages. He turned around.
"Hi, Im Dylan." -
Maria felt a pang and turned to see another girl.
"And Im Maria." She smiled weakly. -
I climbed out of the cage and put the chopsticks in my pocket. "Hi. I'm Diana. I recognize you two from school." With cars extremely harmful to the environment, I thought.

Dylan glanced at the black coat and walked in the direction she had come from.
"Nice to meet you, Diana." he called back to the girl. -
I didn't say anything. How were we going to get out of this place?

Maria smiled at Diana and followed Dylan.
"What are you doing?" She asked him, falling into step beside him. -
"Finding my way around." He answered.

I followed Dylan and Maria.

"You know, Dylan, I kind of want to leave. When do we leave?" She asked anxiously. She kept glancing back at the enviornment-freak as if she was going to turn into some monster and attack them.

"When we find the exit door." Dylan replied sarcastically. He heard a door open ahead of them.
