As soon as the boy slapped her, she woke up, instinctively attacking the boy.
"Oh, God. Sorry."Amien said, releasing the boy's throat. -

xavier thought he was going to be choked to death, "its ok" he said quietly, he took a quick look at the strange mist that always seemed to surround the girl -
The mist almost completly disappeared, but not quite.
"So...thanks."Amien said. "Who are you?" -
"my name is xavier" he said, xavier wanted to know why there was mist around the girl, it seemed to be much less thick now, but he still wondered what it was for, and why it always seemed to follow this girl

"What are you staring at?"

"what is that mist doing here?" xavier asked, he hoped that he wouldn't anger the girl in any way, or ask something bad without knowing

"What-oh."Amien realized that Xavier was talking about the shield. It didnt occer to her that anyone else could see it."It's been around me since I was born. Im turning 13 tomorrow. My parents said they had something important to tell me."

"my parents told me about something" he decided not to tell anymore, and it might not even be the same thing, well it might be, the girl seemed to have strange powers of her own, but he didn't find out his power yet, he wondered if he ever will

"Somethings wrong."Amien noticed."What's wrong?"

xavier looked at the girl again, "oh, nothing is wrong, for now" he wondered who that girl was, "can you tell me your name please?" xavier asked

"Amien." she said. "My parents started crying when they told me."

xavier wondered why amien's parents were crying, was it the same thing his parents told him about? "what were your parents talking about?" he asked

"Well I walked in on them talking about me not being able to come back..."Amien said, trailing off."I need to ask you something. Very inportant."

xavier wondered if it was the same thing that his parents told him about, "what is it? what do you need to ask me?" he asked

"Do you already have your powers?" Amien whispered.
