Amien stayed silent, wiating for the girl's answer.

I yawned. "Kid, if you aren't gonna tell us what's wrong, at least tell us your name.

"My parents died!" Ginger blurted out. "They died when our house burned down. I escaped and I wanted to go back and save them. But the firemen didn't let me. Even though the firemen got the fire to stop,it was too late." She started crying.

Amien turned her head to the side and grimaced. By touching the girl, she was allowing herself to feel the girl's emotions. The grief and sadness was overwhelming. She collapsed on the stairs.

"Oh, honey...." I put a paw on her leg, trying to be comforting. I leaned against her, since I couldn't exactly hug. "I'm sorry..."

Ginger wiped away her tears. "Follow me." she said to the cat and the girl. She walked down the stairs and out of the house.

(I COLLAPSED ON THE STAIRS)

I followed the girl downstairs. "Your name would be nice, though."

Ginger got up and helped the girl. "Are you okay?" -
"Maybe." Amien answered. She could feel the lingering pain the girl was feeling. She grabbed onto the rail and walked downstairs.

"Okay." I followed the older girl downstairs. "What are both of your guys' names?"

"I want to show you guys something." Ginger said. "And my name's Ginger." She walked out of the house,onto the empty street.

"Amien"She said, stumbling a bit.

I followed Ginger. "Ginger, cool name. Amien, pretty name. My name's Poppy."

"Hey Poppy. Do you feel happy right now?" Amien asked. She despartly needed a boost.
