I'm quite clearly a novice to this site and I'm just wondering are members of this site in their own little clique/group. I struggling to grasp how it works as I interpreted the forum aspect of this site as being for general discussion and opinion with respect and all of that. As some members have been appallingly rude towards me I wondering if you need to have a higher status to gain respect, for example for having an opinion.It would be nice to know the ropes, if there are any. Information would be much appreciated. :)

It has nothing to do with statues levels or if your new or not.
People here go by how you act on here,like if your cool then we'll be cool with you.But if not we won't either.

FYI I'm not being an 'a--' I'm simply asking for some helpful information on how this site works; that makes me an 'a--'? I'm not on this site 24/7, why do you think I'm asking for assistance? If I were on it 24/7 I would know by now, wouldn't I?

What have I done that isn't nice? Have I swore? Have I insulted you, or disrespected you? I have an opinion like everyone else on this site and take great care to express it respectfully.

She was saying if you were going to be an a--, don't. She wasn't saying you were one now. Though I see how you could take it that way.
And she maybe could have posted that last a little differently.
I dunno as to your questions.
Not everyone has a 'clique'. I just go around posting randomly to whoever will listen, and a couple who don't want to.
As to status, some people judge by status, but they're mostly jerks, so it doesn't really matter.
Pick the right forum, say the right thing, don't pick a fight with the wrong people. (I THINK Heph would fall into that category, BTW)
You'll be fine.
If at first you don't succeed, try with a different account and persona. -
