yeah i understand, i was trying to say that sometimes some Christians definitely aren't as open minded about that kind of stuff and sometimes they don't mean to come across that way but some might or they do come across that way, not always on purpose imo. christianity is understandable lol
-
oh no, yeah, that's totally real- i always hope i never come across that way lmaoo

I was taught that the lord loves everyone, and that he'll judge you based off of the reasoning behind your actions and how much you regret the things you've done wrong. So if you truly repent for the sins you've committed, God would be able to see that during the judgement day and let you into heaven, but if you only repented so that you'd be saved, he'd be able to see through that. I don't know how well that holds up with actual religious texts, that's just what my family has always taught me
If God is real then his judgement will be revealed and understandable once it really happens. Right now we only know so much -
nah I think I know you okay enough to understand what you really mean lol just based off how you've expressed it
-
mm, yeah- idk either, i'd have to do some searching for that lol
-
Both of you are interpreting your own feelings about it well, neither of you are coming across as preachy or closed minded from what I'm reading lol
-
lol yeah I think everybody's opinions are totally valid
-
that's good lmaoo
i always worry i'll come across as like, trying to force my religion on ppl-
like sometimes i wanna share the gospel and stuff bc of how it's impacted my life in so many good ways, but i don't want ppl to think i'm forcing them to become a christian or smth lmaoo -
I think the best way to try and help people have positive impacts is encouraging finding a religion that truly makes them happy, offer to help them research and tell them about yours, and support them in their decision.
-
exactly, yeah- bc it should be their choice to convert if they so choose, not bc they were forced

fr

that's why I made the religion thread thingamabob lol. So that people can share their views and experiences without feeling like they're trying to convert others
In my experience, forced religion never works. You can force someone to grab a plate of food, but you can't force them to eat it -
frr
also totally my b, i forgot abt it xDD -
I know more about old Christianity than new Christianity, since new Christianity is more abstract and there are so many more branches and such. Some Christians follow the Bible, some don’t, some follow parts of it, so it’s all really mixed up. Not everyone believes in the same concept of hell too, some people believe in Dante Alighieri’s interpretation others don’t, which I think is really interesting.
Also just the concept of religion in general. It’s a really interesting concept to me how all of us can perceive the world in these completely different, abstract almost mythical ways and wholeheartedly believe it. I personally can’t just have faith in something which is why I’m not religious because science has proof and it has a backbone and things to go off. I think it’s really interesting what people do and don’t believe and why
And in this day and age where there are so many religions and new ones are blossoming, like witches and people are starting to believe in Greek mythology again, it’s so important to be open minded (unlike a bunch of Christians on social media and literally everyone in the Middle Ages)
