The reason he didn't just say that at first and then apologized afterwards (which, btw, was actually a decent apology) was because it was ACCIDENTAL. He didn't know he was doing it, he probably just brushed up against her accidentally.
I feel like almost every single accusation made after Shubble's was just exaggerating a very minor thing that can happen to anyone (Caiti's S/A accusation against GNF for him accidentally brushing against her during a party), if not entirely lies (Accusation against Tubbo).
They did this with Dream and now's it's "cool and quirky" and gets you clout if you accuse bigger-name streamers and yoututbers of horrible things.
With the Shubble thing, I'm pretty sure William is in the wrong there. His apology sucked, his actions afterward sucked, and I hope he at least steps away from the Internet and gets some therapy on how to handle himself a bit better. I want him to continue in life past this, but only if he puts in effort to get better and can apologize to Shubble properly. -
I might spend a few days and deep research this stuff, make a breakdown and post it on reddit. I did it with the Dream thing, so I can do it here. Helps me feel like it's manageable and easier for other people to understand. That's the only place I'll put any opinions about any of these messes (outside of GTQ, which, let's face it, is small and none of what I post... matters?)
I only really do this kind of thing with that, so i should start working on drafts
