The forums are a safe space for LGBT people. You can find support here but i recommend asking people first before trying to start a discussion in their personal threads because many of them function as personal journals. If you're not sure which threads are personal you can check the first page in them, or ask the user directly if it's okay to post in them.
There's also plenty of open/community threads that you're welcome to post in & be a part of. I'm glad you'd enthusiastic about being involved here and I hope you make lots of friends ☺
