I think it depends. Some people don't like to use pronouns, like my sister's friend. For example, some people would like you to say: "Alex and Alex's friends," not "Alex and his/their/other pronouns friends."
But some people do use pronouns, and there are lots of them depending on your identity.
People also shouldn't just be limited to male and female gender pronouns. If they feel they don't identify, they should be able to use other pronouns, like xey/xem or they/them.
So if people want to use pronouns that aren't male or female, let them.
If people don't want any pronouns, that is their decision and you should absolutely respect that. -
And I notice my 'it depends' doesn't look quite how I meant it, so let me just say: Yes. Pronouns do matter, but if you don't want them, that's okay.

All I was saying was that gendered pronouns make our lives easier.

Gendered pronouns are NOT NEEDED. Many languages don't have them at all and they get on just fine. -
