THE GTQ ACT OF 2022
Moderator advantages
-Mods get to delete up to nine posts per day
-Mods get to transfer their mod status
-3 threads can be pinned at a time
-Penalties are more severe
-Old mods that are gone get replaced by new mods which get chosen by the current mods
Other people advantages
-You can delete your own threads and posts as much as you want
-You can lock or unlock your posts as much as you want
-You can block users from your threads
-You can move your own threads
-Get to see what users vote in your polls, like on the quizzes
What do you guys think? -
-
Ehhhh
-
I know it would never happen, but I just wanna know if you guys think the same
-
Aren't polls supposed to remain anonymous?
-
The mod advantages seem pretty nice!
I like the idea of being able to block users — but it should be in general, rather than thread specific.
The other recommendations are good in spirit, but they could be abused by trolls or people who have an intention of hiding something. So I think it's best that those powers stay in the hands of the mods. -
I guess that makes sense, but what about the rest of it?
Or maybe, rather, alts of the same person can’t post in the same poll, so that some people don’t vote multiple times -
I feel like blocking users could get out of hand tho, and it doesn’t make sense. If I wanna block a user, that should mean that they’ve done something bad to me. They’d probably be banned for it, which means they’d be “blocked” from the forums all together
-
Ig, maybe you should be able to delete other peoples posts in your thread?
-
@Cham: Well, people can do something "bad" to you without it being ban worthy! Sometimes things happen off-site that sour a relationship. And the sad truth is that some people can mistreat one person, but they act normal in public or to others. So in cases like that, it would be nice for people to be able to block others. Plus, even if something "bad" doesn't go down, sometimes people just don't want to interact with someone. There's no shame in that.
A lot of social websites have some type of block feature, and it would definitely be useful here. -
The mod advantages are great, but the users, well they could be better
-
Well personally, I'm with Ronald Reagan on this one. Trickle down moderation is definitely the way to go. A bunch of new powers should be given to ONLY the mods, but the powers will slowly trickle down to the rest of the users, making it equal.
