Thread Topic: Controversial Opinion
-
Homophobic isn't an insult, it's a descriptor. And the person who was called one, is homophobic.
You don't need to be violent or agressive to be homophobic. -
I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to throw stones. And I try to understand the hurt that people feel. My parents are homophobic in that they try to force their morality on me, and I think that's where it crosses to line into something hateful.
-
So, you should understand exactly why we don't wish to be friends with a homophobe.
I will forever get upset when I see a homophobic post.
Am I going to attack a child over a s---ty opinion he'll likley grow out of?
No.
Am I going to pretend he's right?
f--- no, he's in the wrong.
And it's not an opinion
Please stop saying that it's a morality.
It's morally incorrect to police someone else's identity -
I hate homophobes
Unless your joking in some twisted way, in this context, that sounds like harassment. Considering someone was being labeled a homophobe right before that -
And I 100% agree with you that no one should try to force their harmful beliefs on others
-
If you'd like to have a proper, informed discussion about what casual, non-agressive homophobia has on an affect on young people, I can do that with you. I'll listen to what you have to say to see if we can reach an understanding
But I need you to be honest about who you are, because otherwise I'm assuming you're a troll and I won't waste my time /srs -
Including anti-LGBTQ beliefs
-
Homophobe isn't a slur
You can't hate homophones without jating an individual.
Whereas, you can't hate LGBTQIA+ without hating the person -
That moderator literal said "I hate homophobes"
-
I have no respect whatsoever for any adult that doesn't support the LGBTQ+ community.
-
I try to respect everyone as long as they aren't actively harming someone else
-
Yes.
No one is denying that please stop exlcuding parts of our posts to suit your argument.
Replace lgbtqia with any other minority and your argument immediately fails.
Because its stupid
Homophobia is the action.
If you can't respect a person, you don't deserve their understanding.
Sure you may not be an awful person, but we don't owe you our respect.
Also she's not attacking a specific person, and clearly was saying it in response to the dumbest take I've seen on here.
Which is saying something. -
Cool.

Say it with your chest
