It's easier to cut meat with a serrated knife.

I'm going to assume that it's bc it's such a common household item. You'd be more likely to be spooked out by an every day item being used in gruesome ways than others. Like if somebody used a broom in a horror to kill somebody i'd be more disturbed than if they used a gun or literal sword

Maybe, but people don't always go for the broom, whereas they always go for the vegetable knife for some reason.

Maybe because serrated knives aren't as popular? Like butcher knives aren't serrated. They are actually really sharp though. Sharp enough to cut through bone.

You do have a point. If you're inexperienced with a knife, you don't know whether you're going to hit bone or not.
But you still might as well use a serrated blade because by the time you hit bone, they're either severely injured or dead.
Pros to using serrated:
Meat knife
More pain
More irreversible damage
Pros to using flat edge:
Can cut through bone
