They logged out and tried to make a new account, but then they got locked out of the old one.

They should be able to get back in if they know what password they used. It won't just lock you out for no reason :(

First and foremost, make sure you type in one letter/number/etc. at a time. If you do this and you still can't get into your account, let me know. -
In the future. Do write down all your account passwords and verify your account emails for future accounts so you won't get locked out of them
