Numbers and long words give me anxiety. I'm looking at the official GED prep book so I'll be extra prepared for when I take the test, but...😖
I feel like crying. All of this information is scaring me. -
How can I help
-
Idk.
Do you have any studying tips or something to suggest I do so I won't get so anxious while I look at this stuff? -
I’ve heard the GED is super easy if that’s helps
-
Thanks. For the most part, I believe it is...but the math I'm looking at rn...
Not so much.
That's what I'm concerned most about.😠-
What exactly about those things scares you? It'll be easier to deal with it if you know exactly what about it gives you anxiety.
For any words or long equations my advice is to just break it down.. break it down to the simplest concepts and once you find something small that makes sense you can expand and add the next concept.
Example: incomprehensible. Say that word stresses you out, or the context it's used in stresses you out. Find a root word in that word that makes sense. Start with "comprehend" then use the synonym for it. "Understand" okay now just add the prefix and context clues and the sentence should be much more relaxing to read. Same goes for math. Don't look at the equation as a whole, just start where you feel safe. -
Also like they said the GED should be fairly easy. The hardest part will be the math section though, so that should help you know where to focus.

I'm just generally afraid of math because I was really bad at it when I was little, and I would get yelled at for making the same mistakes and never getting better at it.
I FAILED MY PRE ALGEBRA CLASS 3 TIMES, AND THE FORTH TIME AROUND, I CHEATED JUST TO PASS. I JUST DIDN'T WANT MY PARENTS TO YELL AT ME AND MAKE ME FEEL STUPID ANYMORE!ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ -
I can’t help with math I’m not even sure how I graduated… the internet was my best f---ing friend cause yeesh
