My fingers aren't even near the screen so it has to be the device

If it's a computer, there's probably something in the keyboard that's getting the space key stuck
If it's your phone there's probably something on the screen that it thinks is a finger. Try cleaning the screen off -
Are you on your phone? My phone does that. It's a glitch when it runs a background task or refreshes other programs.

I've already tried cleaning my phone and it didn't work.
