  So years ago my neighborhood only had brown squirrels. That was how it had always been.
  Then one year, a black squirrel came into the neighborhood.
  All the other brown squirrels mistreated him and tried to chase him off.
  Well, next year, a bunch of the squirrels we had weren't brown squirrels.
  They were splotched black and brown.
  That black squirrel must have made friends with somebody.
