Your family doesn’t have to be those in your bloodline, if they treat you like nothing, then they don’t have to mean anything to you. It’s ok to feel distant from them
I don’t talk about this much but
When I was little my mom tried to drown me and my dad shot her in the head and killed her. then, my dad locked me in the basement and wouldn’t let me out or feed me for a few days until my mom was reported missing and they searched the house and found me.
My dad was busted for drugs and obviously convicted of murder and he committed suicide while he was in prison.
My parents did not love me.
They literally tried to kill me.
They are not my family
My aunt and uncle who have raised and took care of me since with all of the love they have to give
They are my family -
Family are the people you love, not the people you're biologically related to <3
