It's waaaaay more likely to be your period. Are you at school right now? Or are your classes online?
If you haven't had your period yet, it should be arriving pretty soon. Most people start them between 12-14, so it makes sense. This is going to sound nasty, but take some toilet paper and use it to find where the bleeding is coming from, if you really think it might be rectal bleeding. Just press it to that area and then look at the toilet paper. -
A lot of times before you get your actual period you'll have what is called spotting. It's just a bit of blood when it isn't your time of the month, and it can mean that you should be watching for it soon.
Other symptoms are cramping, below your stomach and kind of to the sides. Also bloating and headaches, as well as increased irritability and hot flashes. -

If you do the check i explained and it isn't rectal bleeding, you should talk to your mom, it very likely is your period.

If you have a phone you should download the Clue app. It helps you track your period and your symptoms, so you know when it's coming and if it's irregular. It also helps because most doctors will ask when your last cycle was. -

I remember in 5th grade they separated the girls and boys and had us watch a video about puberty. Our video was 20 mins long and there’s was less than 3.
