Random ramble time!
So my username original came from my love of Yugioh(Pharaoh) and Phoenix's; thus pheonix_pharaoh. However the online persona attached to the username has changed a lot over the years. It started of as just a demon(as i was in my edgy teen years), then a shape shifter demon, then a shapeshifter trickster god, then just a shape shifter, and after that i started to develop my three Void Sprites- Nixie, Phen, and Pharaoh. Each of them actually started off as names people on this site called me! Each of their personalities come from ways i interact with those diferent people. (Nixie is friendly and cheerful, Phen is more agressive and sadistic, and Pharaoh(for the people who called me by my full username) generaly emotionless but still will talk to people.)
For a good bit of time it was just that, personality traits associated with names. But then in February of this year, i drew Nixie, though i originally called her Void. I hadnt been planning to draw her, and she had actually started as a challenge to myself to draw something with the colours i dont use often.
For a while it was just her, but then i drew Phen for a Rp with them, thpugh I'd had an idea for what they looked like for a long time(same with Nixie). The only one of the three that i had problems drawing was Pharaoh, as the idea i had for their appearence was constantly changing. If someone wants to see all the various designs i had for them ill post them.
The only thing i really had set for Pharaoh was their genderless ness, where they existed, and their powers. I never had a set appearence for them. But when i drew their Final, it just kinda clicked as them. Of all of the many sketches and drawings i did, this was the only one that i looked at and said "yep, this is Pharaoh."
I have so many characters that actually started out as attempts to draw Pharaoh, but didnt feel correct and ended up becoming characters of their own. Vaitusi(his corrupted form) actually was one of those sketches, as well as at least two Hyzanilk, Fey, 3 unfinished drawings, a version of Vale, and Willow.
I was so happy as i was working on the finnal drawing, as i was finnally putting a face to a character that i had been trying to put a face to for a few months -

Thats the problem i did sleep its not a 'i didnt sleep enough' tired is a 'jeasus f--- emotionts are terrible' tired if that makes sense.

Random ramble no. 2!
So when i draw certain characters i have different ways of going about it.
For things like Erratum, Phen, and any of my vicious monster creatures, i listen to metal/electronic music and viking war chants. The sketching process is fast, with harsh jagged lines and shapes.
For ones like Nixie, Guardian, and my softer kind of creatures, i listen to love songs and celtic stuff. I take more time with the sketching, using softer shapes and lines to flesh out the sketch. With Nixie and Guardian, i usually try to give them a weightless or floaty type of look to them as both of them cam just ignore gravity(and Nixie weights like 5 lbs even if shes almost 7 feet tall)
For most of my other creatures, i usually find one or two songs that fit the character for the sketch, then ill listen to any thing i feel fits the mood of the pose. I usually flip between the two sketching styles i use, and then ill fiddle with a few different colouring and shading styles depemding on my mood and the character
