So my school gave me something to borrow, and now we have to return it. The problem is that I lost it BACK IN SEPTEMBER. And I haven’t told them that I lost it yet because I was convinced that I could find it or tell them later. I have no idea where it is and it is worth $100. I need to tell my parents that I lost it and that they need to send a check to the school to replace it. There is a small chance that the school has found it, but it’s not a good chance. I know I have to do this sooner rather than later because they will be more angry if I keep it from them longer. I am not sure how I should approach this since I literally have no excuse. I’ve hid this from them for months and I could have told them sooner. I know they will be disappointed and angry (and rightfully so, I think). Should I have a way to make it up? I can promise to clean my room ( I know it sounds pretty pathetic but I think that’s my mom’s #1 wish). I can also pay them (extra cash?), but it’s not technically my money since they gave it to me. What do you people think I should do? Thank you so much!

Or try to raise $100 yourself to pay for it.
If you can't, ask your parents if they can set up a way for you to earn that money yourself.
