TL;DR: I'm alive but barely (struggling to breathe. Throat so swollen I cannot consume food or drink)
Long version: I had my doctor appointment this morning. It was not as useful as I would have liked bc it was over a video call. When I shoved my camera into my mouth, my doctor said he didn't see anything out of the ordinary but would prescribe a steroid & something meant to help stomach reflexes.
Couple hundred later and the medication isn't working. I know medication takes a minimum of 2 days to kick in, but the fact that I went from able to drink liquids to choking on everything because my throat is closing in on itself is a sign they have failed me. We didn't want to go to ER, so I'm keeping myself awake until 9 so we can go straight to urgent care and get some kind of x-ray or testing done.
It is safe to say I will not be responding to dms much. I'm really sorry for how worrying this is. I shouldn't have been on my PC so much when I could have been fighting for better care. But. I didn't. So here we are.
I'll try to update you guys if something happens or what the findings are/what kind of help I get. I hope y'all are staying safe & taking care of yourselves. Love you guys. ❤ -

I took an extra dose of the prescribed medication last night, and that seems to have been "the move". It significantly reduced swelling, I'm able to drink and eat again.
But we're still considering an urgent care visit, because we don't know what's going on & I might need antibiotics. But we're really torn because of the cost & the fact that I'm extremely susceptible to getting sick with how feeble I am rn. I'm heading back to bed for now, but I'll let you guys know if it gets worse/better or what the final decision we end up making is. -

She left for the er recently. Her throat is swelling again and she can't drink anything. Just wanted to update y'all.
