If you touch a plasma ball with one hand and touch another person with the other, you will give the other person an electric shock. This is because your body becomes a conductor of electricity
-
Ok, and I don't know if this works with any other kind of plant, but if you put a jade leaf on top of a plasma ball and put your finger just above the leaf, the electricity will go through the glass and the leaf and to your finger. And if you have a jade plant in a mason jar and set the jar on top of the plasma ball, the electricity will go through the glass and (somehow) the dirt, and the plant and to your hand, though it's weaker than if it was just through the leaf.

I know about that one. I've been the victim of it many times.

PLASMA BALLS! I once did plasma balls for the science fair when I was 14

A plasma globe or plasma lamp is a clear glass container filled with a mixture of various noble gases with a high-voltage electrode in the center of the container. When voltage is applied, a plasma is formed within the container.

In general, plasma balls are very safe as long as you use them responsibly. A plasma ball is not any more dangerous than a standard lamp, so you don't need to worry about it overheating or being dangerous for your kids to be around.
-
Plasma globes are not dangerous due to radiation of electromagnetic fields, except possibly to people who have certain types of heart pacemakers. It's generally recommended that such people stay at least a few meters away from plasma globes and Tesla Coils.
