Huh
-
I have to go now.
-
Alright, bye!
-
Now I don't feel like I have a ton if splinters everywhere.
-
I have to talk to that restaurant owner in half an hour. I'm starting to get nervous again.
-
have you ever done an interview before? I was really nervous the first time i did one. Usually the questions will depend on how formal or informal the place is. more formal settings will ask about your conflict resolution skills, teamwork skills, your own advantages and disadvantages. it's a good idea to know you general answers to these questions before hand. and they'll likely ask why you want that job specifically: if it's a company i'd recommend looking into their values and goals.
but the Mexican restaurant job is likely to be more if an informal setting. If you're SUPER nervous i'd tell them that up front, just mention that it's your first job and you're excited to have the opportunity! Worst case: You don't get the job. Try not to psych yourself out tooooo much. -
No, I haven't. I don't even know if this would be considered an interview. I asked if they hire at 14, they said yes, then asked if I could speak Spanish. I said not much, and they said they needed more English speakers and that I'd have to talk to the owner.
Soo...yeah -
Are you good at answering questions on the spot?
-
Average, I guess? I'm not sure.
-
I have to go now.
Wish me luck! -
Well, that definitely wasn't what I was expecting.
-
Here's how it went:
*sets pad of paper in front of me* Put your name here.
Ok *writes my name*
Write down your phone number.
I can't remember my phone number, I'm sorry.
You don't have one?
No, I do, but I just got one, and I can't remember it.
Alright, come back when you have it, then.
Ok, thank you!
*runs out to car* Mom, what's my phone number?
*writes it down and hands it to me*
Thanks.
*runs back in*
You have it?
Yep. *hands sheet of paper to him* Thanks for waiting.
Alright, I'll give you a call.
Ok, thank you!
And that was it. -
:0
Wow! No pressure, right? -
It definitely wasn't what I was expecting.
-
But after that I handed in my application to Winchell's, but it turns out they hire at 15, and I handed in the one for Krispy Kreme, and they took it. They didn't say much.
