seriously, this is jacked up. what is pokego and why do people play it? i saw this dweeb standing in the middle of the walkway playin it and i dont know if i wanted to laugh or grimace

Pokemon GO is a game that makes Pokemon spawn in the real world (ok, not really, but it uses Augmented Reality). They show up in popular tourist spots or local areas of interests. The intent of the game is to make you notice historical and meaningful buildings, monuments, etc. around you more and to "go outside" (hence GO).
My family and I play the game to convince ourselves to go outside and actually walk more. We've made dozens of friends in this state when we would have never been comfortable talking to strangers otherwise. I regularly meet up with the local group and we have potlucks together and other things beyond just playing the game. It's brought amazing people in the community together, and it gives "nerds" a way to connect. -
I mean yeah, we look stupid staring down at our phones in front of buildings or in the middle of the street, but I don't mind. At least there are hundreds of other people doing the same thing as us at any given time. 😅

Oh I should clarify, by street I meant sidewalk. We get after the younger ones for running in the street..
