To be fair I don’t get why people get so pressed when they see someone with a cheap board

Mind your business you do not know their budget. Not everyone wants to drop 120 on a custom deck especially if they’re just trying out skating to see if it’s for them

If they’re just starting a basic $20 board is fine to get cruising and learning basics
They might need to alter the wheels, but that’s ok
If they want to start doing complicated tricks then yeah the grip tape and actual metal parts would be best to avoid accidents but like

I bought that board last year on April during its release date and then went to the shop and assembled the rest there
And it still holds

I would say I am broke Bc I make bad investments but when I couldn’t use my car because I didn’t have any car insurance and had no money to change my plates that skateboard was my way of transportation to and from work and campus
