That's a start. Most likely it'd have to be somewhere near me, because I can't travel like that.
My first suggestion is Super Smash Con. It's a really popular and serious thing in the gaming world. People come from all over to do it! It's in Chantilly every year, which is really close to me. -

Well, I'll tell you the year I go. (Most likely, it won't be next year. But I'll probably go twice. Once to watch, and once to compete.) The year I plan to go, I'll tell you in advance and we can tell each other our gaming names to look for. Once we arrive, all we have to do is look for the person with that name tag. If you enter the tournament like how I want to, we'll end up going against each other, but we'll see our names on the competitor charts on the site at least a week before.

I don't know how soon I'll be able to do that with a tight budget and all, but my parents promised I could compete one year, and my mom suggested watching to see what it's like first so I can train.

Just play against your siblings and the computer. All you can really do is fight others until then. That's what I do every weekend! That, and my siblings and I have a tournament every year at home. It's only us there, but that's okay.
