I've been worrying about my essay, and the book I haven't finished yet along with the assignment that's due MONDay, and the unit I'm working on at the tech center which I'm a little slow at
and I completely forgot
that I promised someone almost a week ago
that I would get this part of this MAP done :)
when I've only done the first FOUR FRAMES (which look like s--- since I'm so busy, btw)
and I still have no idea wtf I'm going to do for the rest of the segment (it was assigned to me, I didn't get to choose)

I'm specifically referring to the ones people put on Facebook and Tumblr posts, not ones on videos movies and tv shows
there's this whole culture that has emerged from cws/tws
where people ask for them to be put in the captions of posts
even though
if you have to ask
you've seen it
and lived
it gets really ridiculous when people ask for them for really specific things
like someone asking for a cw for CheeseWhiz or something when they're probably one of the only people who has that trigger and obviously they're okay and have already seen it
or (and this is a POPULAR one) when people join trans groups and ask for cws/tws for the word "cis" like....why would you even join a trans group if you're THAT sensitive to the word cis, and besides you have to read the trigger warning so you're already being exposed to the word anyway
not to mention being exposed to your triggers and learning how to deal with them is like. the only way you can get better
and it's absolutely toxic and ridiculous to expect every single person to put a tw/cw for every little thing because everyone with PTSD has different experiences and different triggers
it's a huge thing in tag group culture and the LGBT+ community on Facebook and I was having a discussion about it in a group I'm in
I mean if someone asks for a cw/tw, I'm not gonna attack them or anything. I'll probably just ignore them or just add it without saying anything if it's part of the group's rules to respect cws and tws
but it gets me worked up because it's absolutely ridiculous
and people will get soooo mad over a person not putting a cw/tw when asked
it has exploded into this big, stupid thing that does nothing
it doesn't help PTSD at all, like it's "supposed" to doModerator -
I said "attention seekers" which sounds really douchey so let me rephrase because I don't mean to insult the people who indulge in cws/tws
I think it's a way for people to feel special
I think that because when I was going through my political correctness phase where I was offended by everything, I asked for a TW like twice for that very reason. it's hard for me to describe. but I was on the inside once and that's what it felt like, at least for me
I don't think the people are dumb or anything but I do believe the concept is dumbModerator
