Your parents will never know your relationship completely. They might know your boyfriend's outward appearance, or how he acts. They might know how you have approached earlier relationships. In the end, it's you who knows what direction your relationship is taking. Only you can know if something is wrong or right. Sometimes, friends can give you a good shove in the better direction if you're in a bad situation, but... Parents that haven't lived in our age won't understand how our mindsets are anymore. Listen to what your parents have to say, but don't take it to heart.
If you ever feel scared he's going to leave, try to talk to him about it. That's what I had to do a few times. Sometimes, telling your partners about your insecurities is the best you can do for a relationship. For example, I get shy calling my partners compared to calling my gaming friends. I had been dating this really sweet boy who wanted to FT every night. I was super shy because he was everything I've ever wanted and I loved hearing him nerd out but didn't know how to NOT be awkward. He kept asking why I was avoiding him, and I eventually told him what was up. He accepted it, and we FT'ed less but it was because he was trying to stay in my boundaries. Maybe that's what you guys need. A meaningful conversation about what you think you could use help with, and then in return asking what he thinks he could use.
Well f---. One, North Carolina is better- it has me. Two, I'm sorry they're doing that. I wish I could offer advice but most of my adult friends have worked out something with their parents.. -
I will try. I listen to them most of the time, but it's rough for mejot to take it to heart. Even when I do try to explain something, they are set in there conservative mindset.

As long as you remember it's your life, and not theirs, you should be fine. I mean, only you really know what is best for you when it comes down to it. So just make sure you listen to you, and take your own opinions to heart before anyone else's.
