Robert sighed. He remembered the strange and yet familiar surroundings. He took note of what he saw.
"Same colors as before. Same purple and blue. Same list on the right and emojis on the left. Same set up and passwords."
Robert could hardly remember the last time he had frequented his old home. It had been many months. Perhaps even years. Robert reminisced about the history he had here. So much of his youth had been spent in a location that he hardly thought of any more.
"Hello everybody!" He declared to the empty room. With time and patience it would fill. It always filled. -
Robert looked back at the people he had known here. He remembered their names fondly. From the early days of ILM and Hikaru, on through to his time spent with Lyssa and Tony. He looked back also at his time spent with Ting, Alice, and Geek. So many names that had faded in to history. So many more that would never leave him. These people shaped parts of his life and yet he would never know their faces.
Robert was feeling nostalgic. And was narrating. But that was besides the point. -
"Perhaps not." Thought Robert. His realization that the place he had once called home had changed finally settling in. Robert remembered back to a time when even at such a late hour, people would still be active. He reminisced and then departed.

Road entered the room hesitantly, uncertain if they were welcome or not. They stood quietly in a corner, regarding Robert with a neutral expression.
"I've been thinking, it might be self-centered to say that things are worse, or even different now." they interjected. They weren't sure if this made sense, but it was a topic which they'd been giving a lot of thought lately, and they wanted someone to reflect on it with them. "When I remember how it was when I was new here, it seems like maybe this is just how the cycle goes, and it's resetting just about now. There are a lot of people here, but they're young, so they're not here for a lot of the day. As they get older, this place will become more accessible to them. They might have the same good times we look back on with such fondness."
Road considered the condescending way they'd regarded the younger users of the site a while back, feeling that the bonds they forged here were shallow and meaningless in comparison to those of the generations before them.
"Well.. I guess that's not really the point, is it? You miss the people you knew and the times you had, and we can't get that back. I guess I should stop trying to reason things out and just offer my condolences, shouldn't I?"
They shifted on their feet, shrugging, as if to indicate that everything they'd said up to that point should be disregarded at their audience's leisure. -
Robert thought for a second in contemplation.
"Friendships here are only as important as you make them. If you look back at those you knew and can say that those memories were fond, then they were. Don't let how someone else talks detract from your own experiences." -

Memories of you and this place are dear to my heart as well. Sometimes I wonder if I am anywhere near you now that I live in Tennessee. Sometimes I wonder if you would ever consider starting up our friendship again as we have drifted. But I'll never know. There have been things that have happened to me that I wish to share with you, a person that I once called a dear friend. Hopefully, maybe one day. You will probably never see this, as you never saw your birthday post. So this too will be lost. I just wanted to let you know that you are not the only one who still thinks of the good old days. Until next time...
