Thread Topic: why do people continue to press on about pronouns
-
the more pronouns are as a whole a waste, they can be used to reference anyone even if not always grammatically correct
-
perhaps, just perhaps, these individuals that prefer certain pronouns to be used have attained a sense of identity in the stage of identity vs role confusion. this is much unlike you, drew, who constantly states that you dont know what to do in life and that you have no worth and that you find things pointless. i take it you should figure yourself out before you bash basically everything that others do.
they know who they are and have their sense of identity, and families and friends (as much as you so deny it!) more often than not respect their child's decisions. real people care about these things and that can be observed in many schools, businesses, and social environments. most people who prefer certain pronouns do not feel they are a superior special snowflake. all they ask for is respect (which you are more often than not incapable of).
everyone who is in this conversation should leave it alone and let drew do her. stop fueling her lulzy fire and head out and ignore the threads. it's probably best. -
he/him= referring to male
she/her= referring to female
they/them = unspecified person, group, or object (you know, people who are too lazy, and usually in stories when they don't want to reveal someone's identity)
not because they aren't a "girl" or "boy" -
^Same as my thought. Thanks Drew.
-
and they/them is to avoid using the name object or person's name repetively
there's also its/itself mostly used for inanimate objects and a few animals -
lol, no
teenagers are in a state of CONFUSION, they will absorb any type of identity or trait because they are in the progressive milestone where they are trying to figure themselves out, exactly about that identity vs identity CONFUSION
confusion isn't personal affirmation of oneself. an object, or subject, it's the continuous discoveries and questioning until they find something right
and most non-binary people are relatively young and don't know jack s--- about the world outside of Tumblr or some sub-par social media platform where they find comfort in
at least I am trying to make an effort early, so stop trying to end the discussion and using moralistic appeal just because nobody gives much concern about the obviously exaggerated humanitarian effort to apply the virtue of being "be kind to EVERYONE" when that's hypocritical and you're just doing that to make empty impressions -
let's assume they are confused and going off of fads
how about you just f---ing say "they, them" and move on with your life
it's not like they're asking you to pay them a million dollars or have their firstborn
literally just asking you to respect their pronouns
because what if down the road they decide they're male/female? good for them, right? at least you had the decency to respect their s--- and not waste your night arguing about how absolutely terrible it is to just "play along" -
wait, so what would be the point of saying a third-person pronoun if throughout the years they come to their senses and becoming their original gender?
that would be pointless
and go off fads? so basically 100% of gender-neutral, non-binary people who pretty much read someone's creative invention of fictional genders that were probably for fun? -
oh goodie
drew knows how to twist words
can we get applause from the group in the back -
>I was going off of the argument you just made
you know, the one where you complained about that sweet "gender confusion"
>I said let's assume, never once said that everyone or anyone would do that
>the main tl;dr point was that even if they weren't going to decide that they want to be their original gender it's still NICE TO RESPECT PRONOUNS BECAUSE IT TAKES A WHOLE 2-3 SECONDS TO SAY THEY VS HE OR SHE!!!!! amazing, right?
>you've called this s--- a fad, so again, using your POV to try and help your pint sized brain comprehend the fact you're literally being stupid right now -
It's not "twisting", it was a response.
f--- your own integrity, give in to pronouns -
can you all just shut the f--- up
-
Wow. It's amazing how much argument can be done over the words He, She, and they.
How many paragraphs will Drew write about this post I wonder? -
a million because despite the fact it takes a few seconds to write one word it's suddenly worth three pages of arguing with several people
-
I know! LOL! Drew's desperate for attention. I wonder why though. Is there a certain reason he acts this way?
