Yeah, it basically is. More social media means there's a higher chance someone will find you and start showing your stuff to other people, creating a chain of image sharing. It also gives you a name that people can recognize you by. On top of that, it's an easy way to show off your art to other people like if you're applying for a job.

Third, how do I make a presence in social media when I don't know how to do art? I mean, you're talented, so it wouldn't be too hard for you to get popular. But, for me, I don't know how to even draw a straight line without a ruler. XP -

The main reason my parents want me away from certain social media, is due to the fact that I have odd family members.

Dunno about that one. To get popular on social media, you have to put something unique out there. Make your mark. (Or just be a dumb reaction channel)
If you want to be an popular artist, the first (and most difficult) step is to learn how to draw. No one will want to follow an inexperienced artist. -

I drew when I was around 4 or 5. I only seriously started to draw in around middleschool.

Jee jee: You would have to actually find something you stand out with. It could be your voice, your color scheme, and more. But in the end, these days you have to have something peculiar and different. There are so many you tubers and social media peeps, so if you aren't different, no one will look your way. I am sure you have something for you though.
