i don't know how all the other mods feel, but we can't stop them from being on the site. we can't force them to click away from the forums or anything. plus, children make a large majority of the userbase here. because of that, we have to keep the content on here pg-13, something safe so we won't be at fault if some mom walks in on them looking at a picture of tiddies lmao. that's also sort of why we implemented the no-nsfw rule. there's a whole bunch of children here
-
delete their account, force them to come back on a new one and not post their age. that way you can say any known kids were removed.
-
they aren't necessarily doing anything wrong, though. the absolute minimum age to join is 13 because that's the lowest you can go when you sign up and make your account. i joined when i was 11. some of the other mods joined pretty young too. it would be hypocritical to delete their account just for their age. i also feel it would be abusing our powers a bit. but don't take my word for the entire mod opinion, this is how i personally feel.
-
they still come on a new account, they just don't post their age. also, if I remember correctly the issue is with COPPA meaning that it is illegal for this site to allow kids to use it due to data collection, not anything to do with them seeing tiddies.
-
why would actually doing your job be abuse?
>locking your own damn thread like the scum elitists you are + not abuse
>locking your thread becaus you got squeamish when someone hilariously brought up cancer = not abuse
>deleting next's threads even though it wasn't spam at all = not abuse
>getting rid of all the kiddies and making this site ridden with lulz again = abuse -
pls go haja, this is an attempt at serious discussion
We Cannot Create an Account For You
GoToQuiz.com user accounts are intended for teenagers and adults.
In order to comply with a US federal law called COPPA, GoToQuiz.com is unable to offer account functionality to individuals under age 13. COPPA places restrictions on web sites. These restrictions prevent us from collecting information on minors under 13 years of age. Because creating a user account requires us to collect certain pieces of information, we cannot allow you to create an account.
Please honor and respect this rule. Once again, compliance is a matter of federal law.
We at GoToQuiz.com regret that we could not offer what you were looking for.
this is the thing when you try and sign up as a kiddy -
At the moment we don't have the power to easily delete accounts. You know as well as I do that more than half of the "older users" on this site were under 13 when they joined.
However, that doesn't mean that kids of any age and location using this site should be totally willing to give out their age to anyone they just met. Use a little common sense, guys. -
Geek is absolutely correct.
"COPPA imposes certain requirements on operators of websites or online services directed to children under 13 years of age, and on operators of other websites or online services that have actual knowledge that they are collecting personal information online from a child under 13 years of age.'
It was only created to set an age limit because they already know parents would shift the blame on the websites even though an estimate of about 99.8% of websites abide by this law. There doesn't have to be a prohibition of nudity and questionable content, and I am pretty sure kids nowadays know what breasts and the other genital areas are. And 13 is socially considered of becoming a teenager, so- -
this isn't an issue of the kids seeing tiddies, it is an issue of this site not legally being able to allow kids under 13 to sign up and operate an account on gotoquiz. any kind of excuse of "didn't know they were kids" is completely invalid when you have people clearly stating they are under 13 and being allowed to continue to use their account.
-
a large segment of the older users lied about age, I know I claimed to be 13 for around a year too many.
