going to school
any pointers for starting high school because I don't want to f---ing die guys -
I'm really excited to start High school! And I understand that many people are nervous. What are you mainly nervous about?
-
- being social
- making brand new friends
- fitting in
- getting good grades -
Starting high school is similar to starting middle school. Well.. I don't know what to say because everyone had/has different experiences. I guess.. don't slack off? If you start off bad, that's going to catch up to you. You don't want to have freshman classes when you're a sophomore or junior. Trust me. Just focus.

Okay, thanks.

Define fitting in?

Depending on your school system, high school might be the first time you're fully exposed to other grade levels because they'll mix classes. Don't be scared to ask your upperclassmen for help, most of them will be friendly and willing to assist.
Do you homework- It'll suck but you'll know what you need help with.
Take home quiz? Google a question. More than likely, there will be a quizlet set. Teachers are lazy af.
Get to know the layout of your school. Bathrooms, library, lunchroom. Familiarize yourself with how directions are posted.
Suck up to your teachers and it will pay off.
Don't sit near your friend in classes if you know it'll be hard to pay attention near them.
Use your text book. Check and see if the site for the text book has any anything useful!
If they give a course guide, use it. -
Joining clubs wouldn't hurt too.
-
Thanks.
I definitely want to join their art club, but I really don't know. -
Clubs do help.
-
JOIN ART CLUUUBBB!!!! Yasssss.
-
I'm going to join the drama club, and maybe math club! And I'll have to take Gym but it will be my last gym class! Then I can use school time for useful stuff! Like Math, science, english, oh! I should take French too! Oh, wait... Sorry I'm nerding out. lol! If 'fitting in' is your goal then you should join the student council!

- be respectful to your teachers and even if you don't like them, try to do what they say (you're going to be around some of them for the next 4 years and it will help you later on).
- if you are lost, ask for help from a teacher, preferably. students are not reliable. Carry a map with you to all your classes until you memorize your daily route, to avoid getting lost.
Tbh i was wanting to make tons of friends when i first started school. Then I realized that half the people I met were not very good company, and I stopped caring. Not everyone clicks with everyone. Don't be afraid to just hang on your own if you don't have any friends at first. Nobody really cares. Everyone is just waiting for the day to end so they can go home. Although I do suggest always having your phone around so you have something to do during lunch or free periods. -
Ahhh, A freshman? ^0^ I was a freshman last year. Now i'm a second year highschool student. TBH, it was easy and smoothe. Granted i was homeschooled throughout my entire middle school. Just be kind to everyone and focus. Get to know your bearings and go with the flow. :)

Especially when you want to get into college.
OKAYYYYYY
Eww, never. I'm not the type of person that's exactly a "leader".
And this year they also implemented a study hall.
