I couldn't achieve S rank on any of my female soldiers
On top of that, none of my male soldiers could acheive S rank with other male soldiers -
lol that was never a feature. You can only S support with Rhajat as a female, or Niles as a male if you want to be gay.

and the homosexuality is only for the main character -

well, actually only your male, since you got Conquest.
Birthright lets you be lesbian.
And Revelations unlocks both.
