It was as if I was fading in between dreaming and reality. My head felt heavy and nothing, in that moment, seemed real. I sat there, my empty gaze fixated on the colourful calendar which hung on the wall. In truth, the calendar was completely irrelevant to the situation at hand, but I wasn't really thinking about the calendar. No, I was thinking about this feeling I had, this dreamlike feeling...
The only thing keeping me from staring off like that all evening was the feeling of skin and warmth that suddenly invaded my bubble and landed softly on my left arm. My heart race increased as I turned to face two emerald green eyes. The eyes, which were normally striking, had a softer look about them. Yes, I knew exactly what was going on.
And so she stared at me, her eyebrows drawn together in concern and her soft lips slightly parted. The room was silent apart from the quiet sound of our synchronized breathing.
"Listen to the voices." Her gentle voice was like that of an angel. I couldn't even speak before my eyes filled with tears and my head fell against her chest, soon met by her warm embrace.
