You don't deserve an abusive relationship and you deserve the absolute best. It's okay to feel sad even though he's treating you like this. Because you once had a working relationship, I assume, it's going to be difficult to put this in the past, but it's important you move on.
I recently ended a 4 year long friendship with a guy who had once been one of my best friends because of reasons that I won't mention, but it just wasn't working anymore. Even though I ended everything, I was still devastated because of all the great times we had. It was a long distance friendship thing and we met on GTQ XP but I'm doing a lot better, and you will too. It'll all be better in time :)
there's probably a lot of errors in that but, it's the thought that counts, haba
