Everyone's reason is different. I have gotten online for 2 hours every night since monday. And every thread I have posted in has died within two pages. The only way a thread will continue getting posts is if I mention I am forever alone, or if it's already popular. And even if it's popular, people will stop posting until after I get offline. I dont know why it is but my very presence causes people to lose inspiration. Dont feel bad about it. I've already accepted it. Tis life.
