Saika was sitting in the middle of a dark forest on the side of a passing river. Her yellow and blue mixed hair seemed to sparkle in the water's reflection, as well as her eyes. She had just run away from the prison of a palace and didn't have a clue what to do.

She could feel the wind start to blow, ruffling the bottom of her dress, and her hair blew in her face.
She suddenly felt like she was being watched and looked behind her. Nothing. Creepy, she hoped the king didn't send some stupid spies out to find her. She had to start moving along. -
"Hey, who's there?" a firm male voice said from deeper in the woods. It was difficult to see a figure clearly, but he look about 17, tall and lean but muscular at the same time. His hair matched the ashy black of the forest, and his eyes shined like rubies. Saika was sort of in awe and didn't manage to talk. "I said who are you?" He repeated.

"S-Saika," she managed. She felt sort of like a dear in headlights, kind of weak. Damn that palace, trying to make all females the same; delicate and dependent. She did her best to make a tough face. "Hahahaha!" the boy couldn't help but laugh at the display. "Stop before I die in fear!"
Saika scrowled. "Psh, well before you get snippy with me, what is your name?" He smirked, "Jiro the Great, but I'll respond to Great Master Jiro-san as well." Rolling her eyes she started walking away. -
"Hey! Who are you to walk away from me?" He barked. She turned around and smirked. "Who am I? I'm the great princess Saikayashi! You're nothing but gutter trash to me!" His mouth gaped. "W-what? Princess or no princess, nobody calls me gutter trash!" He started catching up to her, muttering his great accomplishments at her. "And I fought a group of 20 men all on my own! Me and my baby right here." He pulled out his katana and stuck a fighter's pose. She giggled. "Oh really? Well I've had to command a whole greetings ceremony for the king in the next kingdom over. Our diplomacy was at stack! And I was who saved it all!" They went on like that, trying to out do each other.
(This is a prequel to what I was writing earlier, btw) -
"Yeah, whatever. Do you know a way out of here?" Saika asked, crossing her arms boredly. "Perhaps... for a price." Jiro leaned against a tree and crossed his arms as well. "What kind of price? If it's money just take it. What use is it to me anyways now?" "Indeed, but I'm a woodsman, what use is a chuck of coins to me either?" "Well, what do you want?" Jiro paused for a second in thought. "Well, you're pretty pathetic, can't think of much you could give me.... Okay. I want you to be my girlfriend."
Saika's eyes widened. "What?!" He smirked and walked a bit closer to her. "No! You don't even know me and you're just a stupid savage I will never love you! Never!" "Okay," he said and began to turn away. -
"You can't just leave me here in the middle of nowhere!" She caught up to him and he stopped abruptly. "Let's make a deal, you become my companion and... "friend" and in return I'll teach you how to not be completely useless." She sighed. "Elaborate please.." He smiled. "So I'll teach you how to fight, grow food and navigate through the forest, and we'll get to know each other and in the end if we're in love we stay together and be a team." "Ah, and if I don't?" "Then we duel. If you end up winning you can leave freely. If I win, you have to be my slave for life." She stood silent for a second and he smirked. "That is, you'll never be able to beat me but I guess I could humor you-" "I accept," She bluntly said, a fire to win in her eyes. "Ha, okay then." He started leading her back to base.
