This town is alive- the pavement burns sigils into bare feet. Some are blessings. Others are less benevolent. The road knows where you're running to before you do. Sometimes it leads you there*. (*but sometimes "there" is a concrete divider ; sometimes "there" is the middle of the intersection at the exact moment an 18-wheeler blows through a red light ; sometimes "there" means nowhere, ever again)

do you ever just step back and realize you're unconsciously developing your own aesthetic
I don't know what to make of the way my environment has become -
anyway tonight I'm gonna try to make a kind of stew
am not confident in the slightest, but I've got a basic idea of what I need to do here -
What's in it?

stew turned out edible, but definitely way too plain, and using a roux to thicken the broth may have been a mistake
it looked and felt more like a gravy
I'll season more heavily and try using corn starch and/or dairy to thicken the broth in my next attempt
the rice and beans I prepared to go with it were actually better than the stew itself, in my opinion
I just fried some of those leftovers up with some eggs and ham for breakfast this morning -
What we use to thicken stew or really anything up, is we put a few tablespoons of cornstarch into a 16 oz glass, fill it with cold water, then stir it till it's dissolved and put it into the stew. It works real well.

I have a severe phobia of food. Eating is a nightmarish experience for me. Don't be insensitive.
