and I love the acknowledgment that not all protagonists are beacons of morality

I know korra did that too
had characters we know and love make really bad mistakes
being terrible parents, having flaws
I haven't seen it often in kids cartoons, but I think it's important to acknowledge that our heroes aren't infallible
idealizing someone has built up the cult mindset that brings entire fanbases to come crashing down on any poor soul that speaks critically of their idol
and, in a more extreme case, I would say this mindset influences political discussion, too -
