I guess they could be? But America has never been open to people who aren't like them, and with Donald Trump here making it seem socially acceptable to hate Muslims, I get the feeling a sudden swell in Muslim immigrants would only provoke our redneck motherf---ers to take up arms.

if america were never open to muslims, a majority of them wouldn't even be here -
I didn't say they can't be here. I just said I don't think they'd be safe, and they're not. A lot of Americans don't like them as it is and they've always faced harassment on those grounds. Now, with the islamophobic bulls--- being spewed all over the place, violence against our Muslim counterparts is on the rise.
